House groups | Tuesday Fellowship | Friday Club | Monica's Art Group
There are three house groups that meet regularly in people's homes. They provide an opportunity to study the Bible or explore other issues during a time of fellowship in informal surroundings.
Monday, 7.30 pm — Rowanfield fellowship group: second and fifth Monday of the month
Wednesday, 7.30 pm — Benhall Housegroup: second Wednesday of the month
Thursday, 7.30 pm — Harp Hill Housegroup: every three weeks
Meetings are held on the first and third Tuesdays of the month from October to April at St Mark's in the small hall. The programme, which consists of suggestions from the membership, is as varied as possible, and is structured around four devotional meetings during the year. Every year one or two sessions are devoted to a charitable cause.
All are welcome, and new faces are especially good to see. You can come for a single meeting, or for many.
The club meets on the first Friday of each month (excluding August), from 2.30 to 4 pm. Its members are elderly, mainly house-bound, disabled, or partially-sighted, who are brought to the monthly meeting by volunteer drivers. A programme of entertainment is arranged, there is a "shop" with sweets, birthday and Christmas cards, and books, and the afternoon concludes with refreshments, followed by a prayer by our minister or one of the helpers.
The final event of each year before the short summer break is a coach outing in July. Usually this is a short midday drive through the countryside, then lunch at a suitable venue, before returning home in early afternoon.
This group meets for two hours in the church hall every second and fourth Friday, from 10.30 am, to do botanical art, drawing from specimens available at the time of year. It is also a fellowship time.
